Abstract: Oxygen vacancy distribution around dopant Ln3+ in Ln2O3-doped CeO2 electrolytes (Ln = 
Sm, Gd, Y, Dy) was investigated using statistical moment method. The explicit expressions of vacancydopant association energies at the first nearest neighbor (1NN) or the second nearest neighbor (2NN) sites 
relative to Ln3+ ions were derived including the anharmonicity effects of lattice vibrations. The findings 
showed that local deformation was generated from preferential distribution of oxygen vacancies in the 
vicinity of Ln3+ cations. The findings of this study were compared to earlier research.
